About last night..

What a wonderful opening night for our local art community and kick-off for Women’s History Month 2025. Saturday night of March 1st we gathered for the opening reception of the new show "Women’s Work" at Studios on the Park guest curated by the talented Lena Rushing.

In this dynamic collection, local SLO county artists submitted work that defines and interprets what the role means to them. Each of these interesting pieces was stunning and varied over many mediums from vivid portraits painted on garments and other found objects, gorgeous and classical painted and gold leaf ceramic vessels to incredible canvases of all sizes and even lots more surprises.

These artists define “women’s work”, as deconstructing gender norms, fighting for equality, and exercising intersectional feminism. It was invigorating to be a part of such an important exhibition and come together in the local art community at such a vital time in our nation’s climate.

Make sure to check out the show if you are in the area it runs until April 27th in Downtown Paso Robles at Studios on the Park.
